Casa Cecilia is located in Playa Santa Teresa, at the
south end of the Nicoya peninsula, which is in the center of Costa
Rica on the Pacific coast.
Casa Cecilia is 3.5 km north of Franks Place, which is at the
crossroad of the main road into Santa Teresa/Mal Pias and the beach
road. You can travel to
Casa Cecilia by car, by air, or by public bus.
Travel by car: All of the major car rental
agencies do business in Costa Rica and have facilities at the major
airports (Liberia and San Jose, Juan Santamaria Airport). From San Jose travel via
Highway 1 northwest to Puntarenas, take the ferry to Paquera, and
follow the signs through Cobano to Playa Santa Teresa. The ferry runs ever two
hours from 4:30 am to 10:30 pm, but be aware that the schedule can
change, especially in the off season (May to November). The total travel time is 5
to 6 hours. From
Liberia, travel south on Highway 21 through Santa Cruz to Paquera
and follow the previous directions. During the dry season you
can take the short cut from Jicaral directly to Santa Teresa but you
need local knowledge, good directions, or a good
map.
Travel by bus: From Juan Santamaria airport
take the bus to Puntarenas, ferry to Paquera, bus to Cobano, and a
final bus to Santa Teresa.
There are private transportation companies that offer ground
transportation to Casa Cecilia. We recommend Tropical Tours
